Press Release: : Inside Out Youth Services offering free therapy for LGBTQIA2+ youth and families, in partnership with YouthSeen

Colorado Springs, CO — Inside Out Youth Services and YouthSeen have partnered on a new program to support LGBTQIA2+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, intersex, asexual and two-spirit) youth and families in the Pikes Peak region. Inside Out’s downtown Colorado Springs center now offers free therapy, including individual, family, group, and crisis services.

Chris Wade (he/they) is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Inside Out’s new resident clinician. Chris began their career providing wraparound services to families in Louisiana and moved to Colorado Springs in 2020. Chris comes to Inside Out from a local behavioral health hospital, where he worked with teens and families dealing with severe trauma. He will be collaborating with YouthSeen while working in-person in Colorado Springs.

“Working with this population has been such a growing experience,” says Wade, “and I’m so excited to continue to serve in a way that creates more access and fewer barriers to gender-affirming care in the Colorado Springs community!”

YouthSeen Founder/Executive Director Dr. Tara Jae (they/them) says: “Bearing in mind the importance of access to Licensed Professional Counselors in the LGBTQIA and BIPoC community, YouthSeen’s collaboration with Inside Out speaks to a larger conversation of what it means to support our youth in all areas.”

LGBTQIA2+ young people and their families may contact Chris at 719- 401-3167 to schedule an appointment.

Chris and representatives from IOYS and YouthSeen are available for interviews.  A photo of Chris Wade is attached. More photos available upon request.
