New owner to a Barre3 fitness studio in North Colorado Springs after leaving Corporate America from a Vice President of Retirement Plan Services position at T. Rowe Price. I worked there for 15 years and was Chair of the PRIDE BRG at T. Rowe Price in Colorado Springs and involved in various diversity efforts and groups within the group and the community.  I moved from New York state to Colorado in 2001 and have been involved with Inside Out Youth Services for 4 years sitting on the Governance Committee, the board, Vice Chair of the Board and the Board Chair.  I am an advocate and ally for diversity and I believe everyone deserves a safe space to be themselves every day. I believe in people and the work that Inside Out Youth Services does for the youth and community.

I’m originally from Indianapolis, Indiana and moved to Colorado Springs in 2012. I’m Senior Vice President at Next PR, a Public Relations Agency. For fun, I enjoy relaxing in the Colorado sun with my wife and dog. I love the mission of IOYS, and I want to help. I was very fortunate to grow up with a loving, supportive family, and I want to offer my time and resources to extend as much love and support as I can.

I was born in Colorado Springs and started working with Inside Out as a volunteer in the summer of 2019. I bring my passion for LGBTQ+ advocacy and a background in tax/finance to the board and also sit on the Finance Committee. I am currently studying Business Intelligence at Metro State University in Denver. I continue to volunteer in the space on a regular basis and have seen how this community saves and enhances lives by providing a brave space to express and explore one’s true self. Inside Out is close to my heart because it provides the support I wish I had growing up as a member of the queer community in Colorado Springs. I have a passion for speaking out for those who are silenced. When not working to further LGBTQ+ rights, you can find me playing with my dog, Scout, reading science fiction, hiking and studying for school.

I completed my pre-college schooling here in Colorado Springs at Rampart High School in District 20. I had come out at the end of my Junior year, and I very nearly killed myself for the “shame” of being gay. Upon graduation, I moved away from Colorado Springs as soon as I could. 26 years and two continents later, I ended up returning to a very different (in some ways) city. I began volunteering for Inside Out the year after my husband and I moved to Colorado Springs in 2015. I know personally, the importance and necessity of this organization for the youth in this ever-growing city. I am delighted to be of service to this organization that actively prevents suicide, self-harm, and shame amongst LGBT+ youth, and which provides food, clothing, and access to shelter for those youth whose “parents” couldn’t parent them. I fought Amendment 2, “back in the day”, and I am proud to be a part of one of the most powerful organizations in Colorado Springs demanding equity for us. For every colour. For every gender identity and expression. Offering a beacon of hope and support for those desperately in need of it in Colorado Springs and in Southern Colorado.

In addition to my board service, I am an interior designer with my own practice, and I own a local home furnishing store called Consign and Design.

I joined the board of Inside Out to support the amazing work and programs offered by this organization.  I feel strongly that giving young people access to a comfortable space and welcoming community can be life-changing.  Growing up in very rural parts of the West, I know what it’s like to not have access to real community.  I’m so happy to be building that here in Colorado.  I am a midwife and now work for the health department as a part of the COVID-19 response team ensuring access to testing for priority populations.  I am parent to a sweet 7 year old activist and I’m working to ensure that my child and every child can move through the world with confidence, safety, and joy!

After surviving winters in Minnesota, I moved to Colorado in 2005. The weather, activities, and people kept me here. Inside Out Youth Services is an inspiring organization that is changing lives. I am excited to be a part of it. I am a librarian and the director of young adult services for Pikes Peak Library District. In that role, I guide the district-wide services for 12-24 year olds in our community. While I was growing-up, the library was a refuge for me and my friends. Inside Out is that for LGBTQ+ youth in our community.
