IOYS' in-person space has reopened!

Inside Out’s in-person community center has fully reopened as of April 7, 2023. We thank our community for your patience as we worked to maintain the safest possible space for LGBTQIA2+ youth in the Tava (Pikes Peak) region. For the sake of safety and privacy, we are not currently publicizing our hours of operation outside our secure Discord server. Please contact us if you are between the ages of 13-24 and wish to join the server to learn about upcoming programs.

Youth Pride & Queer Prom on June 3rd!

Youth Pride is an all-ages event for families to celebrate LGBTQIA2+ Pride in a safe, sober, affirming, and fun festival! We will have food trucks, resources, activities and games, and live entertainment, including DJs, drag shows, music, and much more! Youth Pride will be from 11 am to 3 pm at the Hillside Community Center (925 S Institute St. Colorado Springs, CO 80903.)

Queer Prom is a semi-formal dance party for LGBTQIA2+ and allied young people, ages 13-24 to come dance, mingle, and celebrate! We will have live drag performances, a live DJ, and more! This year’s theme is “Glowhemian Rhapsody!”

This event is free thanks to generous donations by Amy Pitlik and Lauren Cikara!

We are accepting formal wear donations for our young people to feel fabulous at their prom! You can bring your donations to IOYS Monday through Friday between 9 am and 3 pm.

In 2022, IOYS had nearly 1500 visits to our community center, over 3500 virtual visits, conducted over 500 individual therapy sessions, facilitated over 30 trainings impacting more than 1000 LGBTQIA2+young people, and so much more! Read our full impact report here.

Revised training menu

Inside Out Youth Services’ outreach and education staff have been hard at work revising our trainings to better serve our community. If you want to learn more about LGBTQIA2+ identities, how to become a trusted adult, or get answers to other questions related to our community, these trainings may be just what you need.

Do you want to make a difference in the lives of LGBTQIA2+ youth? In addition to accepting donations, Inside Out offers multiple advocacy and volunteer opportunities.

Programs

Our programs support youth through discussion groups, drop-ins (online and in-person), outings, leadership opportunities, counseling, and food and clothing support. Our goal is to ensure that each of the lives we touch goes on to live a healthy and long existence as their authentic happy self.

Advocacy

Our adult workshops train parents and youth-serving adults how to advocate and support their youth through allyship and community resiliency. We also work with community partners, schools, and organizations to advocate for youth and teach them how to be inclusive, change-making leaders.
