Inside Out Youth Services is inviting the community to join us this Saturday for Spencerfest: For HeART & Healing, which is a free community event for LGBTQIA2+ and allied young people, ages 13 to 24, as well as their families and chosen families.
This event is in honor of Spencer, a young person in our community who had an affinity for the arts, an incredible sense of humor, and a deep commitment to friendship and connection. Spencer died by suicide in December of 2023, and it is through their legacy that we elevate a commitment to the arts and mental health in Colorado Springs.
This event will offer dance and ukelele workshops, brought to you by the Colorado Springs Conservatory, a sound bowl meditation, and a poetry workshop, as well as printing press and jacket decorating activities, and the Mobile Arts truck. In addition, we will have mental health resources available including Pikes Peak Suicide Prevention and NAMI.
This event is free and open to the public. IOYS staff and volunteers will be present to uphold IOYS Brave Space Agreements (which can be found below.) IOYS armed security will be present at the event for enhanced safety and to conduct bag checks.
