In addition to our programs, Inside Out also provides free resources in our community center such as:
Inside Out focuses on case management as a way to bring safety, security, and agency to our participants. We provide one-on-one case management support for young people navigating access to housing, food, social services, documentation, employment, appointments, and other needs.
The Spencer Pumilia Mental Health Support Fund (MHSF) provides financial assistance to LGBTQIA2+ young people ages 13 to 24 seeking to enhance wellness for themselves and/or their peers. In memory of one of our young people, Spencer, who died by suicide in 2023, IOYS has created a dedicated fund for young people to request funding to support activities, resources, and experiences that that positively contribute to their mental health.
Peer Program Interns are members of the LGBTQIA2+ young adult community (ages 18 – 24) and are responsible for building trusted relationships with attendees, providing essential administrative support to full-time community center staff, delivering outstanding customer service, and assisting with program development and facilitation as requested. Peer Program Interns must be able to establish and maintain strong boundaries with participants despite sharing peer status including refraining from gossip, upholding the drug/alcohol/tobacco free policy while on Inside Out time, not giving preferential treatment to friends or disclosing personal information, and establishing professional—not personal—relationships with attendees. This position requires a strong dedication to both personal growth and the growth of the Inside Out community.
